Yes this can be a problem if its bad enough it will need removing - The best way is to scrape off and then spray with a moss prevention - I use a SKYVAC system this saves the need for a scaffolding in most cases

Hi yes moss can be a problem if it’s built up for some time. It would need to be scrapped or wire brushed off. Then I would put a strip of copper along the ridge to prevent it coming back. You don’t need a scaffolding as we do it on roof ladders hope this help.

Hi there yes moss on any roof can most definetly be a problem as it acts like a spoge and soaks up water adding weight to your roof and restricting the waterflow down of your roof i would have it scraped off and a moss prevention sprayed over your entire roof its not only the problems i mentioned above when moss does come off your roof it blocks your guttering restricting the rain water from getting to your downpipes witch is another problem i done a roof in Edinburgh last year we scraped the moss off the front and back of 3 bedroom house and it filled 8 builders waste bags full the weight of witch was incredible as the moss was full of water witch made it easier to scrape off if the moss is dry then the weight is no issue but still a problem i would get 3 quotes before you hire anyone make sure there going to hand scrape it off clean your gutters and apply an antifungle prevention spray to your roof also i might add if your roof is in an area that does'nt get much sun moss removal would be something i would have done at least once a year good luck
