Hi there paul from roofing services Edinburgh here no a roofing company doesn't have to be a registered installer to fit a velux the advice I can give you is get someone local to you here on checkatrade and have a look at any they have fitted reviews etc also roofing companies regularly pick up windows and flashing kits at a reasonabily lower price than the velux website to keep this in mind when getting quotes however they will need time to go and pick the window etc up from there local merchants so don't expect to much of a discount on the window but keep it in mind don't have anyone tell you a window cost without seeing it with your own eyes what your paying for also get 3 quotes to compare prices best of luck paul.
No it doesn’t but be mindful that the flashing kit installed after installation of the velux window must be also from velux otherwise this may affect any warranty received !
Hi you don’t need to be a registered installer but anyone installing a velux must take before and after pictures so if the window or flashings fail you have proof of fitting
Just check velux terms and conditions of gwaranty first. Many producers hold rights to cancel gwaranty if is not installed by one of them register fitters.

an interesting question i would personally only use a registered installer.
peace of mind is worth its weight in gold
and any issues you have a guarantee to fall back on.
i once saw an installation - was so impressed i recommended the builder to consider joing Checkatrade…….
