    Hey everyone,

Did you know that 200 million Instagram users visit at least one business profile daily?

Whatever trade you work in, having an Instagram account to showcase your work will help to raise awareness of your business and promote your services. It will also boost your credibility and show potential customers that you’re a trustworthy professional who is proud of their work.

    101 on Instagram
Instagram is one of the most popular social media networks and a free marketing tool that you should be using to grow your business. This visual platform can also be used to bring tradespeople together to share advice and tips with others in the industry. Read our article here for more digital marketing tips for professional tradespeople.

To create engaging content for Instagram, you need to focus on capturing interesting photographs and videos that are likely to interest potential customers. For example, you could share before and after posts from a job you’ve worked on, behind the scenes videos of you actually carrying out a project, or even inspiration and tips to show off the fact that you know your stuff.

How to get started with Instagram
    Create a business profile
If you already have an Instagram page up and running, you can easily switch it to a business profile. Simply go to your settings and click ‘Switch to Business Profile’. By having a business profile, your customers can click the contact button on your page to get in touch with you, and you can also access stats about the reach and impressions of your posts. This will help you better understand your audience and create more of the posts that perform well.

    Set your Instagram bio

Your Instagram bio is what people will see first when they click on your profile. You should clearly state what it is you offer and include your website URL if you have one.

    Share your work
Once you’re all set up, you need to start sharing your work. Try to take photos at all of the different stages of your projects, as well as videos so that you can share a variety of content. You should also tag your location (without revealing any client addresses of course) as this will be a reminder of the areas you work in and help you reach a wider audience.

    Collect your tagged photos
Encourage your customers to tag you in their photos of your work too, and then you can re-share their images and showcase your work from a customer’s point of view.
