Recently, we've chatted with a customer who told us about their experience of finding a tradesperson on Checkatrade.
I wanted to share it here in the Community as I'm keen to hear what everyone else's best practices or are for winning jobs too - please have a read below:
Having spent a lot of time during lockdown considering bits and bobs I wanted to be done around the home and garden, finding a tradesperson was top of my list for when restrictions started to ease.
I needed some gates fitted at the front of my property and decided to use Checkatrade after seeing their TV advert and doing a bit of research myself. I’d heard how busy most tradespeople are at the moment, with everyone using their unspent overseas holiday money to do up their homes instead. So, when I contacted 3 companies through Checkatrade, I was pleasantly surprised by the response I got.
I received emails from 2 of them confirming that they’d get back to me within 24 hours. One of them did and the other I never heard from. The 3rd emailed me within about an hour asking when I’d be available for a call. I replied telling him I was free and he called straight away – I was impressed with the quick response. After asking me about the job I needed doing, he advised me about the options available to me and made some great additional suggestions that I hadn’t even thought of.
He gave me such confidence that he was passionate about his trade and the best choice for the job, that when he warned me that I’d likely be facing a 5 month wait, I decided that I’d stick with him as my choice. I’m looking forward to having the work completed and would already happily recommend him to others after his professional and knowledge response to my job enquiry!
It's really great to hear this story and feedback 😍
What are your best tips or advice on ensuring that a customer chooses you over someone else during the first initial contact? 📞
