Do radiator covers block heat?

@ChelseaDave look amazing 👏👏👏👏SEAN SAUNDERS DECORATING

@ChelseaDave We love them all! Personally my favourite is the first picture... Im in desperate need of some around my flat next (its all electric heaters and they're not the prettiest of things)
-
Hi @Lauren I don’t think you are supposed to cover electric heaters so be very cautious and check first!
-
@ChelseaDave I had no idea! Thank you Dave I will go and do my research on this 🤝

Hi @Lauren yes, they are more of a fire risk, particularly when surrounded by flammable materials. This is why you shouldn’t dry things directly on them. Standard water filled radiators are obviously much safer because they just radiate heat and won’t combust.

Thanks guys, the trick is to treat radiator covers as a piece of furniture and try to blend them in with their surroundings so that they do not stick out like a sore thumb! Unfortunately I do not tend to make and fit many these days as the likes of B&Q where you can pick one up for around £60 ready-made make them not worth doing. Obviously mine are bespoke and are made to fit individual radiators and I have paid up to £200 for the grill alone (brass lattice), but some people look at a radiator cover as just a radiator cover, whereas I see what they want as just a box. Such is life, you can't win em all!

Hi @Lauren Anyway, what’s all this fuss about radiators? You can’t beat an open fire, just ask a true expert!
