Hi All,
Just had a Plumber out to fix a blocked toilet waste pipe yesterday. This morning I came down to water on my kitchen floor and dripping through the ceiling and light fitting. What do I do?
I have been in touch with the firm and they say they are coming back out today but I may have to pay if it is "Something Silly"
Surely they should rectify without charge as this only happened after the plumber had been fiddling with my pipes!
I’d say they should definitely be returning for free to assess the situation if it’s the same toilet they were working on. If it’s something like a valve they’ve used to isolate the water when making the original repair, I’d say although unfortunate, it would be down to you to cover the cost as it’s a fitting meant to isolate water, so if it leaks (like a lot of older fittings do) when using it to isolate the water, then it’s not really fit for purpose and so would be down to you. But if it’s sometning like not tightening up a connection or an issue with the original repair then they should be repairing it off their own back. Happy to give any further advice once they’ve attended.
