Hello, I live in London and I found that most electrician expect to charge their clients twice for the EICR, before and after the remedial works have been taken out.
Is this common practice?
Do you think it’s fair?
Hi Lila , I am an Electrician who carries out a lot of EICRs and yes there is an initial charge for the first EICR and depending on the extent of the Remedial works some circuits may need to be re tested so a new certificate will need to be issued once the work is completed, however i would charge only 50% for the EICR cost on the 2nd visit on top of the remedial works, I work in London so if you need anything looked at please let me know :) Thanks Rob
Hi , it all depends on wether the report fails or not , if it fails there is remedials and a recert to do . BUT the electrician should make this clear before the initial report commences
