Hi,
I'm planning to replace my old patio doors with bifolds and I'm also planning of replacing my flooring (the old one is carpet, the new one will be tiled).
Do you think I should do the flooring first or the bifolds?
Thanks in advance!
Chiara
@Chiara
I would get the new bifold doors fitted first, just in case when taking out the old frame and replacing it with the new one they could damage the new tiles,plus the new frame could be slightly different size.
regards sean
Hi @Chiara Easiest way, hang the bi-folds and then get a block of wood roughly 3-4mm thicker than your flooring and run it along the existing floor and scribe a pencil line across the front of the bi-folds when fully closed, this is your cut. Remove doors, fit flooring and then re-hang doors. But be cautious because this is when your flooring is level. A bump will need further removal from the doors. Rising butt hinges are a good way to address this problem as they lift the door as it opens.
