Ask for multiple quotes: You don't need to pick the cheapest quote but it'll help to give an overall idea of the right price. You can then decide from there who you thought was the best fit for the work on your home.

Make sure not to:
- Be too scared to ask questions - use the Ask a Trade board here to get advice from the experts!
- Just pick the cheapest workers - Make sure to use a reputable tradesperson and search our list of vetted Checkatrade members
- Underestimate timings and stress levels - Things are taking a lot longer than planned in this current climate, trades are busier than ever. It can be super stressful living in a building zone so make sure you're prepared for the worst. This is only for a short amount of time though!
- Choose furniture that is too large - space blockers that can dwarf the space is a common problem. You must always measure!
