Hi everyone, wanted to ask if there are any limitations in regards the distance from the gas mains to bolt on a wooden post on my side wall in order to attach a gate to it. I would put it after the gas mains but then the gate would be at an angle. will I need to move the mains if I want to put the post here?
Are you intending on fitting the post just above the gas pipe? Providing the pipe is kept away from potential damage/stress then there shouldn’t be a problem. Gas pipe clearances more deal with issues like passing through materials/building fabrics or proximity to electrics.
@RJHeating
as the gas main is quite close to the floor, I am thinking to make a U on the post and attach it to the wall over it.
thank you for the reply
