I have found the post from the original link, but can't post a pic on this thread for some reason it's in the info about fair visability for members
Hi Pete, just to let you know I've seen the picture (I'll have a look into why you weren't able to upload one here) and I am seeking some clarification on this for you. I'm waiting to hear back on some more details about the PLI also.

Thanks Katy
Not sure why I can't upload on this feed the option isn't there! Some info would be great as these seem like big holes in the way things should be done, especially putting a false postcode, to me that is not good to have false details, lol that will be fake phone number and fake address on everyone's page,
Thanks Katy

Hello - would you be able to see if you can upload an image now? I think I've found what the issue was. Thank you! Katy
Seems to work now
Says we can change our home postcode? Why are you encouraging false details on pages? Kind of goes against all of these expectations of members bein transparent to customers?
a lot are doing this and dont have public liability insurance ethier and i have just found out from a cliet that has tried to leave 2 reviews no confirmation email recieved from cat and the 2nd review wpuld not even let client do it or is tbis a further thing that cat are trying to control i willnbe chevking this with a further client tomorrow false post codes is dishonest and encourages rogue trades as no one will find them tut tut tut
Hi
@Pete293160
I have heard back from the team and they've confirmed that you are able to change your home postcode, and I'm just in the process of following up now to find out about the rest of your question so will update as soon as I've heard back.

So when a customer searches and a trader has fake details to appear local in the search does no one at cat think this will cause issues with consumers? Our customers search for local people not someone who says they are local but actually lives miles away, how was this researched and put through as OK?

Hello, I've asked about this and I'm just waiting to hear back on the details 🙂 I'll let you know as soon as I've got some more information.
Hi
@Pete
923160 I've heard back about the postcode question: members can elect to work in a different postcode free of charge, but we will still hold the business address which is the address that is associated with vetting checks.
I'm just waiting on some more information about PLI, I'll let you know when I've heard more.

Hi
@Katy
My point here is if I change my postcode to come up in searches, customers will then think I am local when I could be miles away, they will choose me on the basis I am local and then probably be quite annoyed to find out that the home address is actually false, the same as when people call me with an extension they may post drawings to me or post cheques to me, how can anyone see that posting a false address to get work is a good idea? It's all well and good that you hold the actual address but it's customers having the correct details which matter! I really don't understand how these ideas get passed through and put into place
